Job Title

Analog Mixed-Signal Design Intern

Role Summary

Internship position on an analog/mixed-signal IC design team. The intern will contribute to circuit design, simulation, silicon characterization, and automation tasks supporting power-management and analog blocks.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship for students; intended for current graduate students (internship level).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on design, verification, and lab validation of analog and low-power mixed-signal circuits.

  • Contribute to analog and mixed-signal IC design, simulation, and verification.
  • Design and analyze operational amplifiers, including stability and compensation techniques.
  • Design low-power circuits such as LDOs and buck converters to meet power and performance targets.
  • Perform silicon characterization and debug to verify performance against specifications.
  • Automate workflows and data analysis using scripting (Python, Perl, TCL, Shell).
  • Participate in design reviews and collaborate with the team on project goals.

Requirements

Concise list of skills and attributes required or preferred for the role.

  • Must-have: Proficiency in analog IC design, operational amplifier theory, and low-power design principles.
  • Must-have: Practical experience with scripting or automation (Python, Perl, TCL, or Shell) to support design workflows.
  • Must-have: Ability to work in a lab environment for silicon characterization and debugging.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior experience with LDOs, switching converters, or mixed-signal verification flows.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with EDA simulation tools and data-analysis toolchains.
  • Professional attributes: eager to learn, adaptable, team-oriented, with effective communication skills.

Education Requirements

Currently enrolled in an M.S. program in Electrical Engineering or a related field (student status required for the internship).
