Job Title

Analog/Mixed-Signal Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design, simulate, and validate analog and mixed-signal building blocks for Optical Compute Interconnect products, including power management, biasing, monitoring, and auxiliary analog circuits. Work cross-functionally with analog, digital, photonics, packaging, and systems teams from concept through silicon validation to deliver robust analog IP.

Work on graphene-based photonic interconnects aimed at improving chip connectivity and energy efficiency.

Experience Level

Mid-level. 4–5 years of industry experience in analog or mixed-signal IC design preferred; equivalent demonstrated impact accepted.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing, verifying, and supporting analog/mixed-signal IP across development and silicon validation phases.

  • Design analog IP: LDOs, bandgap references, bias generators, voltage/current references, POR circuits, oscillators, temperature sensors, and monitoring circuits.
  • Develop mixed-signal control blocks: DACs, ADCs, calibration circuits, state machines, and digital control interfaces where required.
  • Perform transistor-level simulations: DC, AC, transient, noise, stability, PVT, Monte Carlo, and post-layout verification.
  • Optimize circuits for power, area, accuracy, noise, PSRR, transient response, and robustness across process and temperature variations.
  • Support silicon bring-up, characterization, debugging, and correlation of measured results with simulation.
  • Collaborate with analog, digital, photonics, packaging, layout, and test teams through tapeout and silicon validation.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items noted.

  • 4–5 years of industry experience in analog or mixed-signal IC design, or equivalent demonstrated impact.
  • Strong CMOS analog design fundamentals: feedback, stability, noise, matching, power management, device characteristics, layout effects, parasitics, and post-layout verification.
  • Hands-on experience with transistor-level simulation and verification flows (DC/AC, transient, noise, stability, PVT, Monte Carlo, pre-/post-layout verification).
  • Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso/ADE/Spectre or equivalent SPICE simulators; Verilog-A/Verilog-AMS; Calibre DRC/LVS and parasitic extraction flows; MATLAB and/or Python for analysis and automation.
  • Experience with silicon bring-up, characterization, debugging, and correlating measurements with simulation data.
  • Effective analytical and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
  • Nice to have: experience with high-speed optical transceivers, integrated photonic systems, mixed-signal SoCs, and taking analog IP through tapeout to production readiness.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline; equivalent practical experience accepted.
