Job Title

Analog Mixed-Signal Circuit Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design analog and mixed-signal circuits for Ferric's integrated voltage regulators that combine thin-film magnetic inductors with CMOS technology. Work spans schematic design, post-layout verification, and chip integration across CMOS nodes.

Collaborate with architecture, characterization, test, and applications teams to define specifications, verify performance, and debug circuits for production-ready ICs. Location: Remote or New York, NY. Annual salary range: $115,000–$170,000.

Experience Level

Entry-level — expects approximately 2+ years of relevant experience in full‑custom CMOS analog/mixed-signal design.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on designing and validating analog/mixed-signal building blocks and supporting chip integration and bring-up.

  • Design analog and mixed-signal circuits to meet architectural and technical specifications across CMOS nodes.
  • Contribute to architectural definition and chip integration; work with product and application teams on specifications.
  • Research new circuit techniques to improve IC performance and efficiency.
  • Perform schematic and post-layout extraction simulations and analysis to verify designs meet specifications.
  • Document assigned blocks, lead and participate in design reviews.
  • Work cross-functionally with characterization, test, and application engineers to verify, characterize, and debug owned circuit blocks.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and tools; preferred items listed separately.

  • Proven experience with full-custom CMOS analog and mixed-signal circuit design.
  • Design experience in bandgaps, ADCs/DACs, PLLs/DLLs, LDOs, temperature sensors, switched-capacitor circuits, op-amps, comparators, and biasing circuits.
  • Proficiency with CAD and simulation tools: Cadence Virtuoso (schematic and layout), Spectre, APS, Calibre DRC/LVS/PEX, and CppSim.
  • Ability to perform schematic-level and post-layout verification and analysis, including PEX-driven simulation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced collaborative team environment.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience designing high-switching-frequency integrated voltage regulators in standard CMOS.
  • Experience bringing mixed-signal designs into high-volume production and familiarity with backend verification tools (EMIR, static/dynamic MOSFET voltage checks, etc.).
  • Monte Carlo analysis skills and deep understanding of process and device physics.
  • Experience with Verilog, Verilog-AMS, Python, Perl, Tcl, and MATLAB.

Education Requirements

PhD or MSEE (Master of Science in Electrical Engineering) in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field is specified. The posting also requires approximately 2+ years of full-custom CMOS design experience.
