Job Title
Analog/Mixed-Signal Circuit Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and implement high-performance analog and mixed-signal circuits used in next-generation memory and interface solutions. You will work on circuit specification, schematic design, simulation, and silicon validation as part of a multidisciplinary design team based in San Jose, CA.
Work is onsite at the company facility; the role contributes directly to memory and interface IP development.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Typical experience expectations: BS + ~4 years industry experience, or MS + ~2 years industry experience; relevant hands-on analog/mixed-signal design experience is required.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include circuit design, verification, and coordination with layout and validation teams.
- Design analog/mixed-signal circuits (wireline transmitters/receivers, equalizers CTLE/DFE, PLLs, CDRs, ADCs, DACs, voltage regulators, bandgap references).
- Define circuit specifications and architecture in collaboration with system and design teams.
- Perform schematic design and simulation; support silicon bring-up and post-silicon validation.
- Guide and coordinate layout/mask designers; provide floorplan and layout guidelines to meet performance and area targets.
- Analyze circuit performance to support design sign-off and characterization.
- Document design methodology and contribute to improvements in design flows and automation.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical experience; preferred items listed separately.
- Strong understanding of analog and mixed-signal fundamentals (noise, matching, parasitics, feedback systems).
- Hands-on design experience with one or more of: wireline transceivers, equalizers (CTLE/DFE), PLLs, CDRs, ADCs, DACs, voltage regulators, bandgap references.
- Experience with mixed-signal verification and post-silicon validation techniques.
- Ability to lead and coordinate with layout/mask teams and provide clear design guidance.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
-
Nice-to-have: high-speed interface design experience (PCIe, MIPI, SerDes, UCIe, memory interfaces), familiarity with FinFET processes, circuit modeling (Verilog-A, MATLAB), hardware description languages (Verilog/SystemVerilog), and automation scripting (Python, Perl, Tcl).
Education Requirements
BS in Electrical Engineering or a related field plus a minimum of 4 years industry experience, or MS in Electrical Engineering or related plus a minimum of 2 years industry experience. Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field is listed as preferred. Fields referenced: Electrical Engineering and related technical disciplines.
