Analog Layout Engineer

Role Summary

The Analog Layout Engineer implements physical layouts for analog integrated circuits as part of Marvell's Central Engineering analog team. You will translate schematics into layout using CAD tools, run verifications, debug with designers, and iterate until the design meets specifications.

This role works with global teams (Argentina, Singapore, U.S., Europe) and supports IP used across multiple product domains.

Responsibilities

Typical tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Implement analog IC layouts from schematics using CAD/layout tools.
  • Create and edit microelectronic layers and mask geometries to meet specifications.
  • Run layout verifications and design checks (e.g., LVS/DRC/parametric checks) and debug issues.
  • Collaborate closely with the analog IC designer to iterate and refine the layout.
  • Coordinate with global teams and attend regular design and project meetings across time zones.
  • Present status updates, technical issues, and proposed solutions to project stakeholders.
  • Maintain documentation of layout changes and verification results.

Requirements

Must-have skills and qualifications:

  • Practical experience with IC layout CAD tools for analog implementation.
  • Experience running verifications using Cadence Virtuoso or equivalent flows.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to global teams.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with designers and cross-functional teams and adapt to shifting project priorities.
  • Eligibility to access export-controlled technology; non-U.S. applicants may be subject to export license review.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (undergraduate or graduate) is expected, with specialized coursework in analog design or layout. The posting notes coursework may come from a degree program, summer courses, or conference courses. Fundamental understanding of electrical concepts is expected.
