Job Title

Analog Layout Design Engineer

Role Summary

Entry-level analog layout engineer supporting analog and mixed-signal IP development. Work as an individual contributor under guidance from senior layout and circuit designers to implement custom layouts and complete physical verification tasks for analog blocks used in SoC and IP designs.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” 0–2 years of relevant experience or strong academic exposure in analog/custom layout design.

Responsibilities

The engineer will execute layout implementation and verification activities for assigned analog blocks under supervision.

  • Perform analog and custom layout design for assigned blocks under supervision.
  • Implement layouts using Virtuoso, Custom Compiler, or equivalent tools.
  • Run and debug physical verification checks: DRC, LVS, density and reliability checks; EM/IR analysis; ESD and latch-up checks (as applicable).
  • Follow layout constraints provided by circuit designers and layout leads.
  • Support layout iterations, ECOs, and signoff closure.
  • Adhere to established methodologies, checklists, and quality standards.
  • Document layout issues and support design reviews with senior engineers.

Requirements

Key skills and experience; separated into must-have and nice-to-have.

  • Must-have: Basic understanding of analog layout practices and matching concepts; layout vs. schematic consistency; reliability and manufacturability considerations.
  • Familiarity with custom layout tools and physical verification flows.
  • Ability to work as an individual contributor under technical guidance and strong attention to detail.
  • Nice-to-have: Hands-on exposure to Virtuoso/Custom Compiler; experience running Calibre/ICV for DRC, LVS, and density checks; exposure to RedHawk/Totem for EM/IR; academic projects or internships in analog/mixed-signal design; understanding of basic analog circuits (op amps, drivers, IO cells); scripting (SKILL, Tcl, Python).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree (B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field. The posting expects 0–2 years of experience or strong academic exposure in analog/custom layout design. No specific certifications were listed.
