Analog Layout Design Engineer

Role Summary

Lead physical layout design for analog, digital and mixed-signal blocks within FPGA products. Work with circuit designers, foundry partners, and verification teams to produce manufacturable layouts that meet performance, area and reliability targets.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning and executing layout work, verification, and coordinating with cross-functional teams.

• Lead and execute layout for digital, analog and mixed-signal circuits (floorplanning, placement, routing).
• Optimize layouts for area, performance, matching, parasitics, noise and manufacturability.
• Perform physical verification: DRC, LVS, ERC and related checks.
• Collaborate with circuit designers to translate schematic requirements into layout solutions.
• Manage layout schedules, resources and deliverables to meet project timelines.
• Interface with foundry partners to ensure compliance with process design rules and manufacturing practices.
• Lead design reviews and document layout methodology and guidelines.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for this role.

• 8+ years of analog/mixed-signal IC layout design experience.
• Expert proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools (examples: Cadence Virtuoso, Mentor Graphics).
• Deep understanding of transistor-level and analog circuit topologies and layout sensitivities (matching, parasitics, noise, shielding).
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to deliver high-quality layouts to schedule.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional work.
• Nice-to-have: experience mentoring or leading layout engineers.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related field.
