Analog Intern
RenesasJob Title
Analog Intern
Role Summary
Summer internship within Renesas MID (Memory Interface Division) supporting research and development for next-generation DDR power-management ICs (PMICs). The intern will research PMIC control architectures, run behavioral and transistor-level simulations, and implement circuit designs in Cadence under guidance from development and applications engineers.
Successful interns may receive a full-time offer based on performance.
Experience Level
Summer internship (temporary, fixed-term).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities during the internship period.
- Research PMIC control-architecture concepts for next-generation DDR PMICs.
- Perform behavioral simulations (e.g., SIMPLIS) and transistor-level simulations.
- Develop and build circuit schematics/layouts in Cadence.
- Collaborate with design engineers (DE) and application engineers (AE) to validate approaches.
- Document results, prepare reports, and present findings to the team.
- Support lab work and prototype testing as directed.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and logistical requirements.
- Solid background in power electronics and analog circuit design.
- Familiarity with behavioral simulation tools such as SIMPLIS and transistor-level design in Cadence.
- Ability to perform simulations and interpret results across abstraction levels.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with guidance.
- Available to work onsite in San Jose, CA for the full internship period: May 24 β August 13 (100% onsite).
Education Requirements
Preferred: Master's or PhD (graduate student). Candidate must not have graduated before September 2027. Relevant fields include power electronics, analog design, electrical engineering, or closely related technical disciplines.
