Job Title

Analog IC Design Manager

Role Summary

Manage a technical design function responsible for analog and mixed-signal integrated circuit design for sensing applications. Lead a team in Tucson to provide technical direction, personnel development, and cross-functional collaboration on process, packaging, and test solutions.

Experience Level

Level: Senior. Hiring guidance: Master’s in electrical engineering or related field plus ~5 years design experience (including analog sensing and mixed-signal work), or Bachelor’s in electrical engineering or related field plus ~7 years design experience (see Education Requirements for details).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of the role include technical leadership, project evaluation, and team development.

  • Direct and guide design activities for analog and mixed-signal ICs used in sensing applications.
  • Evaluate R&D project outcomes and recommend actions to meet technical objectives.
  • Prepare and present technical reports summarizing project results and recommendations.
  • Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient operation of the function; mentor engineers on circuit design and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop process, packaging, and test solutions for sensor technology.
  • Drive design of low-power, high-precision analog circuits and oversee their integration into product flows.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience (degrees summarized under Education Requirements).

  • Established experience in analog and mixed-signal IC design, particularly for sensing applications.
  • Proven people leadership or engineering management experience, including mentoring and performance development.
  • Experience preparing and presenting technical reports and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Practical knowledge of low-power and high-precision analog circuit techniques.
  • Ability to collaborate with process, packaging, and test engineering teams on sensor solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to drive projects to completion in a matrix organization.

Education Requirements

Minimum requirements stated by the employer: either a Master’s degree in electrical engineering or related field plus 5 years of design engineering experience (including at least 2 years in analog design for sensing and mixed-signal circuitry), or a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field plus 7 years of design engineering experience (including at least 5 years in analog design for sensing and mixed-signal circuitry).
