Analog IC Design Engineer NCG

Role Summary

Design and verify analog integrated circuits for new TI products. The role involves defining architecture and specifications, modeling and verification, supervising layouts, and coordinating prototype characterization to support product releases. The position is based in Knoxville, TN and sits within the product development engineering organization.

Experience Level

Entry-level (New College Graduate). No specific years of professional experience required beyond the degree.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Partner with business teams and system engineering to develop clear, testable design specifications.
  • Perform high-level analysis of chip architecture trade-offs to meet specifications and cost targets.
  • Participate in design reviews and produce required design and product documentation.
  • Supervise or coordinate IC layout activities to meet performance targets.
  • Characterize prototypes, develop test specifications, and coordinate with test/product engineering to drive releases.
  • Develop and validate behavioral models for designs.

Requirements

Core skills and attributes expected:

  • Strong foundation in analog IC design, circuit modeling, and verification (must).
  • Familiarity with prototype characterization and test-spec development (must).
  • Ability to coordinate or supervise layout activities and work with layout engineers (must).
  • Effective verbal and written communication; ability to build strong stakeholder relationships (must).
  • Quick learner with strong analytical/problem-solving skills, initiative, teamwork, and time management (preferred).

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field required. Cumulative GPA 3.0/4.0 or higher required.
