Job Title

Analog IC Design Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Analog Power Products team in Dallas to design analog integrated circuits for power management used in consumer, industrial, and automotive applications. The role covers the full IC design cycle from architecture and schematic through simulation, layout direction, silicon characterization, and product release.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” typically requires 1+ years of experience in analog or mixed-signal IC design.

Responsibilities

The core responsibilities include hands-on circuit design, verification, and cross-functional work to bring power-management ICs to production.

  • Design and simulate analog and mixed-signal circuits (power converters, voltage regulators, references, protection circuits).
  • Define design specifications with systems and product teams to meet performance and competitive targets.
  • Lead design reviews and produce clear design and product documentation.
  • Direct and supervise IC layout to meet matching, shielding, parasitic, manufacturability, and reliability targets.
  • Characterize silicon prototypes; develop and execute test specifications with test and product engineering.
  • Develop behavioral models for circuit simulation and system-level analysis.
  • Drive silicon debug and failure analysis to resolve issues and improve robustness.

Requirements

Essential and preferred technical skills and experience for successful candidates.

  • Must-have: Minimum 1+ years experience in analog or mixed-signal IC design.
  • Must-have: Practical experience with analog simulation tools (Cadence Spectre, HSPICE, or equivalent).
  • Must-have: Familiarity with CMOS, BiCMOS, or BCD process technologies used for power-management ICs.
  • Must-have: Experience with IC layout supervision and understanding of matching, shielding, and parasitic management.
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of power-management topologies (buck, boost, flyback, LDO, charge pump) and power-stage design.
  • Nice-to-have: Scripting experience for simulation automation (Perl, Python, or SKILL).
  • Nice-to-have: Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and experience collaborating across design, systems, test, and product teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. (Source lists Bachelor's degree as the required degree level.)
