Job Title
Analog IC Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and verify analog and mixed-signal circuits for high-speed CMOS transceiver/SERDES products within a small central engineering analog team. Work spans architecture, circuit implementation, verification, lab bring-up, and cross-functional integration with digital and SoC teams.
Experience Level
Mid-level — requires approximately 4+ years of relevant analog/mixed-signal IC design experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include design, verification, and validation of analog/mixed-signal IP and transceiver components.
- Perform architectural exploration and circuit implementation for PLLs, DLLs, ADCs, regulators, amplifiers, TX/RX, CDRs, and related blocks.
- Run design verification and analysis using industry tools (SPICE/Spectre, MATLAB, post-layout extraction workflows).
- Lead lab chip bring-up, characterization, debugging, and validation, independently or with test engineers.
- Produce design documentation and application specifications; support field applications engineers and customers as needed.
- Coordinate with digital and SoC teams to integrate analog IP and perform cross-functional verification.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for the role.
- Experience with analog design and verification tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, ADE, and post-layout extraction flows.
- Hands-on experience with high-speed SerDes, transmitter and receiver design, and multi-GHz low-jitter clock generation and distribution.
- Knowledge of signal integrity, noise reduction techniques, and techniques to improve SI in high-speed links.
- Practical experience with analog layout considerations in FinFET processes and their impact on high-speed designs.
- System-level pre-tapeout analog validation and lab debugging/chip bring-up experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and cross-team interaction.
- Nice-to-have: experience with D2D IP, UCIe, DDR5/LPDDR5, GDDR6/LPDDR6 or similar high-density parallel interfaces.
Education Requirements
Master's degree and/or PhD preferred in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field. The posting also specifies ~4+ years of relevant experience. (Degrees preferred; equivalent practical experience is not explicitly listed.)
