Job Title

Analog Engineer

Role Summary

Work in Intel's Advanced Design Foundational IP Organization within the Design Technology Platform to design and deliver analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits and foundational IP for client, server, and networking products. The role focuses on circuit design, simulation, verification, tape-out activities, and cross-functional collaboration to meet performance, power, area, and yield targets.

Experience Level

Level: Senior. This role requires substantial professional experience; see Education Requirements for the degree-and-years combinations used to determine minimum eligibility.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include hands-on analog/mixed-signal circuit design through silicon and cross-team technical leadership.

  • Design, simulate, and optimize analog circuits and mixed-signal IP (ADCs, DACs, voltage regulators, high-speed I/O).
  • Create and validate floorplans, perform parasitic extraction, and simulate analog behavior models.
  • Develop test plans, evaluate verification results, and resolve design issues through post-silicon validation.
  • Collaborate with architecture and layout teams to ensure robust, manufacturable designs.
  • Execute tape-out activities and serve as the technical interface to process technology, IP, and product teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience (minimum practical experience in these areas is required; degree and exact years are in Education Requirements):

  • Expertise in analog circuit design, simulation, and verification methodologies.
  • Proficiency with CMOS technologies and practical understanding of analog layout implications.
  • Experience with tape-out processes for analog/mixed-signal circuits, including ADCs and DACs.
  • Knowledge of SoC analog layout design checks and analog verification flows.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve circuit performance issues and work across teams during design and validation.

Nice-to-have:

  • High-speed parallel or serial I/O links, clock distribution, PLLs, bandgap references, inductors, transmission lines, RF or millimeter-wave experience.
  • Experience with power delivery networks (PDN) and integrated power regulator design.
  • Proven cross-team collaboration and influence on process or product decisions.

Education Requirements

Degree and experience combinations required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus 8+ years of relevant analog/mixed-signal design experience; or Master's degree plus 6+ years; or PhD plus 4+ years. The posting also allows equivalent qualifications obtained through a combination of industry experience, internships, and relevant coursework or research.
