Analog Design Senior Engineer
Role Summary
Perform analog design simulation and analysis to improve analog design flow efficiency within the Synopsys IP Group. Work with internal tools teams and cross-functional engineering groups to integrate, validate, and optimize in-development analog design tools and flows.
The role focuses on improving time-to-market and design quality by providing tool feedback, creating documentation, and training designers on new methodologies.
Experience Level
Senior-level role (title indicates senior responsibility for tool validation, mentoring, and driving process improvements).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Conduct analog design simulation and analysis using in-development analog design tools and flows.
- Perform AC, DC, transient and statistical (e.g., Monte-Carlo) verification to validate designs and flows.
- Provide actionable feedback to internal tools teams to improve functionality and usability.
- Document workflows, create methods and training materials, and train internal designers on new tools and flows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate tools and optimize the design flow.
- Support efforts to improve power, performance, and area (PPA) in analog designs.
- Mentor and support junior designers as needed.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and abilities:
- Proven analog design skills with focus on PPA optimization for analog blocks.
- Experience with analog simulation and testbench methodology (AC, DC, transient, Monte-Carlo).
- Familiarity with EDA tools for schematic entry, physical layout, and design verification (examples: Synopsys Custom Compiler, Cadence Virtuoso).
- Ability to document methods clearly and produce training materials for engineers.
- Strong English communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Previous experience providing feedback to EDA/tools development teams or improving internal tool flows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering plus a minimum of 2 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
