Analog Design Engineering Intern
Analog DevicesJob Title
Analog Design Engineering Intern
Role Summary
Work as an intern on analog and mixed-signal IC design projects, supporting design, simulation, layout, silicon validation, and lab characterization under the guidance of senior engineers.
The role is hands-on and intended to develop practical skills across the full IC development lifecycle using industry-standard EDA tools.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship. Suitable for students or early-career candidates seeking practical experience in analog/mixed-signal IC design.
Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities during the internship include:
- Assist in design, simulation, and verification of analog and mixed-signal circuits (amplifiers, filters, data converters).
- Use SPICE and Cadence (or equivalent) tools to analyse circuit performance and validate designs.
- Support IC layout activities with attention to matching, parasitics, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Perform laboratory measurements and device characterization using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and power supplies.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to debug, optimize performance, and support silicon bring-up.
- Document design results, test data, and technical analyses clearly and concisely.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and attributes:
- Fundamental understanding of analog circuit design (amplifiers, filters, biasing, feedback).
- Basic knowledge of mixed-signal IC principles and analog-digital interactions.
- Familiarity with circuit simulation and modelling using SPICE or equivalent EDA tools.
- Understanding of CMOS technologies and semiconductor device fundamentals.
- Exposure to IC layout concepts including matching and parasitic effects.
- Hands-on laboratory measurement and characterization skills; strong analytical and debugging ability.
- Effective verbal and written communication and ability to work in a team.
Education Requirements
