Job Title
Analog Design Engineer - Technical Lead
Role Summary
Lead the design, development, and validation of complex analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits from concept through silicon qualification. Act as technical reference and mentor within a cross-functional product development team.
Focus areas include amplifier and reference design, ADC/DACs, PLLs and clocking, sensor interfaces, regulators and power management, and ensuring first-pass silicon success.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Typically more than 15 years of experience in analog or mixed-signal IC design; proven track record of technical leadership and product delivery.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities span architecture, transistor-level design, verification, silicon bring-up, and cross-team collaboration.
- Lead architecture, design, and verification of analog/mixed-signal blocks (amplifiers, voltage references, regulators, ADCs/DACs, PLLs, clocking, sensor interfaces, power management).
- Develop transistor-level designs and run detailed PVT simulations to meet performance targets.
- Drive design reviews, perform technical risk assessments, and resolve design issues during development.
- Support layout implementation, post-layout verification, silicon bring-up, characterization, and production ramp.
- Collaborate with system architects, digital design, verification, layout, product engineering, and manufacturing teams to deliver products.
- Define and promote best practices, design methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineering team members.
- Contribute to technology roadmaps and strategic product development initiatives.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate impact.
- 15+ years of hands-on experience in analog or mixed-signal IC design, with responsibility for silicon delivery.
- Strong expertise in CMOS analog circuit design and analysis, including noise and reliability considerations.
- Hands-on experience with Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, and related EDA simulation/verification tools.
- Proven record of successful silicon development, characterization, and product ramp to production.
- Deep understanding of semiconductor device physics, noise analysis, reliability, and design-for-manufacturing.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, decision-making, and the ability to lead complex projects and influence technical direction.
- Strong communication skills and experience mentoring engineers and managing stakeholders.
Education Requirements
Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or a closely related field.
