Job Title

Analog Design Engineer

Role Summary

Senior analog/mixed-signal design engineer in the Vital Signs Monitor Group within the Industrial and Healthcare business unit. Responsible for designing low-power, high-performance analog front ends (AFEs) for wearable and clinical health products.

Work spans specification, transistor-level design, behavioral modeling, silicon characterization and support for product introduction.

Experience Level

Senior. For candidates with a BSEE expect 2+ years of relevant design experience; alternatively candidates with an MSEE or Ph.D. focused on high-performance analog design are suitable.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include end-to-end IC design and verification for analog/mixed-signal products.

  • Perform IC design from specifications through verification, documentation and layout supervision.
  • Develop behavioral models for system-level simulation and verification.
  • Plan and execute silicon evaluation and characterization to support product introduction.
  • Collaborate with test engineering to ensure design for test and manufacturability.
  • Define and adhere to project schedules and milestones.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, tools and professional abilities.

  • Strong transistor-level analog design skills and intuitive analytical understanding of devices.
  • Thorough familiarity with data converter (ADC/DAC) design techniques.
  • Experience designing instrumentation amplifiers, operational amplifiers and bandgap references.
  • Experience with analog and digital behavioral modeling.
  • Familiarity with Cadence schematic capture and Spectre and/or HSPICE circuit simulation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to meet project schedules.
  • Experience with silicon evaluation and characterization workflows.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
  • Note: applicants other than U.S. citizens or permanent residents may require export-licensing review.

Education Requirements

BSEE with 2+ years of relevant analog design experience, or an MSEE/Ph.D. focused on high-performance analog design techniques (Electrical Engineering or closely related technical field).
