Analog Design Engineer
Texas InstrumentsJob Title
Analog Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and deliver analog integrated-circuit (IC) blocks and subsections for consumer and mobile electronics products within TI's advanced circuits and power solutions business. The role owns designs from specification through silicon release and transfer to production, and requires frequent technical interaction with internal teams and key customers.
Experience Level
Entry-level - 2+ years of relevant analog circuit design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary technical and delivery responsibilities for analog IC design and handoff to manufacturing.
- Architect and implement analog chip blocks/IP with end-to-end ownership from definition to manufacturing.
- Design, develop, simulate, and evaluate analog circuits and integrated circuits at transistor level.
- Perform intermediate and final design reviews and silicon evaluation to ensure technical objectives are met.
- Collaborate with design verification, validation, product engineering and test teams to complete pre-production tasks and enable production transfer.
- Participate in technical reviews and architecture discussions with high-volume customers; represent design team in customer interactions.
Requirements
Concise list of must-have skills and experience, followed by preferred skills.
- Must-have: Minimum 2+ years of hands-on analog circuit design experience, including transistor-level implementation and topology selection.
- Must-have: Demonstrated ability to own complex IC design tasks, meet schedules, and deliver high-quality silicon with minimal supervision.
- Must-have: Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills; ability to work directly with customers and internal teams (layout, verification, validation, test, program management).
- Must-have: Project and time management, problem solving, and attention to detail for delivering production-ready designs.
- Preferred: Experience with Cadence toolset and simulators such as Spectre, Simplis, MATLAB, AMS.
- Preferred: Post-layout parasitic extraction and simulation, layout tradeoffs, die-area optimization, and verification of IC-level performance metrics.
- Preferred: Experience with Monte Carlo/worst-case analysis, top-level verification and modelling, and system-level partitioning/architectural tradeoff analysis.
- Preferred: Knowledge of device physics and process technology tradeoffs relevant to power IC design.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
