Role Summary

Develop mixed-signal analog blocks for Silicon Labs' low-power MCU and wireless SoCs. The role covers specification, architecture, circuit design, verification, layout coordination and lab measurement.

Work on the Oslo analog design team in collaboration with sites in Austin and Singapore to deliver the Gecko MCU and Wireless MCU platforms.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Specify and architect analog circuit blocks for MCU and wireless SoCs.
• Perform circuit design, simulation and verification using industry-standard tools.
• Collaborate with digital, software, layout and product teams to integrate features.
• Produce layout-aware designs and work with layout engineers on performance/size trade-offs.
• Plan, execute and analyze lab measurements to characterize silicon.
• Document designs and present technical results to engineering teams and leadership.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred qualifications:

• Must-have: Proven background in analog circuit design and strong knowledge of MOS transistor behavior and analog/digital circuit principles.
• Must-have: Hands-on experience with circuit simulation and verification; laboratory measurement skills.
• Must-have: Ability to take analog designs through specification, implementation, verification, layout coordination and measurement; good written and oral English communication and teamwork skills.
• Nice-to-have: MOS device modeling experience (noise, excess thermal noise, DIBL, GIDL, NBTI).
• Nice-to-have: Design experience with building blocks such as op-amps, power management circuits, ADCs/DACs, oscillators, bandgaps, PLLs and memories.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with Cadence design tools, Linux, MATLAB and Python.

Education Requirements

M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on analog circuit design (explicitly listed in the posting).
