Job Title
Analog Circuit Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and validate analog circuits and custom layouts for HIP/Soft IP used in SoCs. Work in a product-enablement / custom-ASIC engineering team to translate architecture into circuit implementations, produce timing collateral, and support integration and delivery.
Experience Level
Entry-level β suitable for candidates with approximately 0β2 years of relevant experience; a Master's degree may reduce experience expectations.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Develop micro-architectural specifications from high-level architecture and translate them into circuit schematics and custom layout.
- Execute analog circuit design for TX/RX blocks, power circuits and behavioral models.
- Run EDA/design tools and library flows to qualify HIP/Soft IP to delivery standards.
- Create timing collateral, waivers, and documentation required for SoC integration.
- Perform analog validation, debugging, and system-level modeling to verify designs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support IP usage and deployment in SoCs.
Requirements
Key skills and experience required and preferred.
-
Must-have: Practical analog circuit design skills, including experience with TX/RX blocks, power circuits, and behavioral modeling.
-
Must-have: Experience with floorplanning and analog layout techniques and with analog design libraries and EDA tools.
-
Must-have: Analog validation and debugging experience and ability to perform system-level modeling.
-
Must-have: Ability to produce timing collateral and waivers and to support IP deployment in SoC environments.
-
Desirable: Familiarity with functional bus protocols and IEEE test standards (e.g., JTAG).
-
Desirable: Prior internship or project experience in a VLSI environment and familiarity with HIP development or custom ASIC flows.
-
Behavioral: Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and effective communication and collaboration skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field β or equivalent practical experience. The posting specifies Master's degree holders may require less or no prior experience; equivalent experience and relevant internships are also noted as acceptable.
