Analog Circuit Design Engineer
Intel CorporationJob Title
Analog Circuit Design Engineer
Role Summary
Lead design and development of high-speed analog and mixed-signal circuits for advanced process nodes, focusing on SerDes, memory interfaces, PLLs, regulators and clocking systems. The role is part of the Central Engineering Group (CEG) and is responsible for delivering robust, high-performance, and manufacturable analog IP.
This position requires on-site presence in Bangalore and involves collaboration with architecture, layout, test, and validation teams through design, post-layout verification and post-silicon debug phases.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Candidates should have multiple years of hands-on analog/mixed-signal design experience; see Education Requirements for degree-based minimums.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and optimize high-speed analog circuits (SerDes, memory interfaces, PLLs, regulators, clocking).
- Perform circuit-level simulation, post-layout extraction, and validation against block specifications.
- Create and execute test plans for functionality, reliability, and performance; support post-silicon debug and validation.
- Collaborate with architecture and layout teams to meet targets for power, area, timing, yield, and electrical robustness.
- Refine and document design methodologies to improve delivery timelines and quality.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Proven experience designing high-speed analog/mixed-signal circuits and IP for advanced process nodes.
- Strong CMOS analog circuit fundamentals and modeling techniques.
- Practical experience with industry EDA tools and simulators (examples: Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, PrimeSim, post-layout extraction, DRC/LVS).
- Experience creating and executing verification and test plans; ability to perform post-silicon debug and resolve silicon-related issues.
- Ability to optimize designs for power, area, timing and manufacturing yield.
- Effective cross-functional collaboration and clear technical documentation skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with reliability testing and high-volume manufacturing readiness.
- Scripting for automation (Python, TCL, Perl) and experience modeling high-speed interconnects and channels.
- Leadership or mentoring experience.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 6+ years of analog circuit design experience; OR a Master’s degree with 4+ years; OR a PhD with 2+ years. Related technical fields are acceptable. Equivalent practical experience may be considered where applicable.
