Job Title
Analog Circuit Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and validate high-speed analog and mixed-signal circuits for advanced process nodes, supporting IP and custom silicon products. The role works with cross-functional teams across architecture, layout, and validation to deliver robust, manufacturable analog blocks.
Experience Level
Mid-level β typically 3+ years of relevant analog circuit design experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include design, verification, and collaboration to take analog blocks from specification to silicon.
- Design, simulate, and optimize high-speed analog circuits for advanced process nodes.
- Perform circuit validation, post-layout extraction, and correlate measurements with simulations.
- Create and execute test plans to verify designs against block specifications.
- Optimize designs for power, performance, area, timing, and yield.
- Collaborate with architecture, layout, and cross-functional teams to resolve design issues.
- Conduct layout reviews and provide guidance on placement and routing.
- Support post-silicon debug and validation for high-volume manufacturing.
- Improve design methodologies and processes to reduce turnaround time and increase quality.
Requirements
Must-have skills and tools for competent performance in this role:
- 3+ years of hands-on analog circuit design experience (high-speed focus preferred).
- Proficiency with CMOS design and RC circuit fundamentals.
- Experience designing high-speed I/O circuits and modelling interconnects/channels.
- Experienced with circuit simulators and analog design tools such as Spectre, HSPICE, Prime-Sim, Cadence Virtuoso, ADE, or equivalent schematic/layout editors.
- Familiarity with DRC, LVS, and post-layout extraction flows.
- Ability to perform lab measurements and correlate results to simulations.
Preferred / Nice-to-have:
- Exposure to high-speed digital circuit design and analysis.
- Familiarity with digitally assisted analog techniques and Verilog-A behavioral modeling.
- Scripting experience (TCL, Perl, C, Python) for automation and testbench development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field is required by the posting.
