Job Title

Analog Circuit Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design, develop, and optimize analog and mixed-signal circuits for data center and AI products. Work on high-performance, low-power IP across advanced process nodes and collaborate with architecture, layout, validation, and system teams to integrate designs into products.

Focus areas include circuit design, behavioral modeling, floorplanning/layout oversight, and post-silicon validation.

Experience Level

Entry-level / early career. Minimum experience guidance in the posting: Bachelor's degree + 3+ years, Master's degree + 2+ years, or PhD (no years specified).

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Design and develop complex analog and mixed-signal circuits (TX/RX, amplifiers, filters, clocking, on-die regulators).
  • Perform circuit analysis and tradeoffs to optimize power, performance, area, timing, and yield.
  • Create and validate behavioral models for analog/mixed-signal IP for system-level integration.
  • Develop and oversee floorplans and layouts; ensure adherence to design rules and robustness.
  • Conduct small-signal analysis, stability testing, and feedback-loop compensation to meet specifications.
  • Collaborate with architecture, layout, and validation teams for seamless integration.
  • Author microarchitecture specifications, test plans, and verification documentation.
  • Perform post-silicon validation and debug to verify functionality and performance.
  • Provide technical mentorship and participate in design reviews.
  • Use industry-standard design and simulation tools (e.g., Synopsys, Cadence).

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Proven experience in VLSI analog circuit design and small-signal analysis.
  • Familiarity with foundational digital design concepts relevant to mixed-signal integration.
  • Experience with Synopsys and Cadence design tools and flows.
  • Experience applying design optimization techniques for performance, power, and area.

Nice-to-have / preferred:

  • Knowledge of high-speed I/O signaling, transmission-line theory, and power-delivery concepts.
  • Familiarity with PLLs, ADCs, DACs, switched-capacitor circuits, and noise analysis.
  • Experience with scripting, MATLAB, and post-silicon lab characterization tools (oscilloscopes, signal generators).
  • Cross-disciplinary knowledge in analog integration, RTL, static timing analysis, and power-grid design.
  • Experience with Python, VS Code, and modern developer tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot).

Education Requirements

Minimum qualifications specified: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 3+ years of experience; or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 2+ years of experience; or a PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
