Job Title
Analog and Mixed Signal Design Engineer
Role Summary
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role plans, manages, and oversees design and delivery of custom CMOS image sensors across specification, architecture, circuit design, simulation, layout, verification, silicon bring-up, testing, and customer engagement.
Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams, foundry partners, and customers to translate application requirements into manufacturable sensor designs that meet performance and schedule targets.
Experience Level
Entry-level β minimum of 2 years practical analog/mixed-signal design experience (guidance: 0β3 years).
Responsibilities
Deliver and coordinate technical activities across the sensor design lifecycle; communicate status and resolve technical challenges with internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead sensor development from specification through tapeout, testing, and transition to product.
- Develop sensor architectures and detailed mixed-signal circuit designs that meet customer and product requirements.
- Perform transistor-level circuit design, simulation, layout, and verification using modern EDA tools.
- Manage pixel design activities and evaluate pixel performance during development.
- Interface with foundries to align designs with process technologies and support successful implementation.
- Oversee tapeout and fabrication activities; support silicon bring-up, characterization, and validation.
- Work with test engineering to develop test hardware and test plans.
- Communicate design status, performance expectations, risks, and project updates to customers and stakeholders.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and professional abilities required to perform successfully in this role.
-
Technical experience: Minimum of 2 years in analog/mixed-signal design for image sensors or related fields.
-
Circuit design & tools: Expert-level transistor-level design, simulation, and verification using EDA tools such as Cadence, Siemens, or Synopsys.
-
Analog building blocks: Experience with bandgap references, bias circuits, operational amplifiers, switched-cap circuits, LDOs, PLLs, SERDES, high-speed TX, and feedback/compensation techniques.
-
ADC & readout: Familiarity with ADC architectures used in image sensor readout applications.
-
