Role Summary
Design, implement, and deploy computer vision and deep learning algorithms for high-throughput semiconductor inspection systems within the LS-SWIFT algorithms group. Work cross-functionally with software, systems, applications, and field engineers to move solutions from prototype to production.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include research, development, and production deployment of ML/CV solutions for industrial inspection:
- Design, develop, and optimize machine learning and deep learning algorithms for image and signal processing.
- Take algorithms from concept and prototyping to production deployment and maintenance.
- Invent and evaluate novel computer vision approaches for challenging, real-world datasets.
- Analyze system performance, diagnose issues, and improve robustness and accuracy in production environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate algorithms into product architectures and support field deployments.
- Contribute to architectural decisions to improve algorithm performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Strong background in machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, or image processing.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major deep learning framework such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Proven experience training, validating, and deploying ML/DL models in production environments.
- Proficient programming skills in C++ and/or Python; familiarity with object-oriented or functional programming.
- Ability to design model architectures, customize loss functions, and optimize models for real-world constraints.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work on ambiguous, open-ended challenges.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with large-scale, high-resolution image data or industrial inspection systems.
- Familiarity with performance optimization, GPU acceleration, or real-time systems.
- Experience working in cross-functional product environments from R&D to customer deployment.
Education Requirements
Minimum qualifications specify degree plus related work experience: Doctorate (PhD) with 0 years related experience; Master’s degree with ~3 years related experience; Bachelor’s degree with ~5 years related experience. Degrees should be in relevant technical fields (engineering, computer science, physics, or similar) or equivalent practical experience.
