Algorithm Developer

Role Summary

Develop advanced computer-vision, machine-learning, and image-processing algorithms for semiconductor inspection and metrology equipment. Contribute to design, optimization, validation, and deployment of algorithms integrated with hardware and production software. Based in Bangalore, India; onsite role with approximately 10% travel.

Experience Level

Mid-level - requires 5+ years of industry experience in computer vision, image processing, machine learning, or computational imaging.

Responsibilities

Work across algorithm research, implementation, validation, and product integration to deliver production-ready capabilities.

  • Design, develop, and optimize inspection and metrology algorithms (defect detection, classification, segmentation, registration, alignment).
  • Apply computer vision, image processing, machine learning, and deep-learning techniques to product problems.
  • Develop robust, scalable algorithms for high-throughput production using CPU, GPU, and parallel computing.
  • Create benchmarking, validation strategies, and performance metrics; analyze large datasets to identify gaps and improvements.
  • Collaborate with product management, software, systems, and applications engineering to translate requirements and integrate algorithms into products.
  • Participate in design reviews, prototyping, implementation planning, and release activities; document technical designs and validation results.
  • Investigate and resolve field issues and customer escalations related to algorithm performance.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • 5+ years developing computer vision, image processing, machine learning, or computational imaging algorithms in industry.
  • Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
  • Solid understanding of computer vision, image processing, machine learning, and deep-learning techniques.
  • Experience developing and integrating algorithms for hardware-integrated, production systems and optimizing for CPU/GPU.
  • Experience working in cross-functional engineering teams and strong written/verbal technical communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in semiconductor inspection, metrology, or semiconductor equipment.
  • Familiarity with OpenCV, NumPy, PyTorch, TensorFlow, CUDA, and GPU acceleration.
  • Experience with CNNs, transformers, self-supervised learning, model optimization, and statistical analysis/experiment design.

Education Requirements

MS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field (explicitly stated).
