Role Summary
Internship within Siemens EDA's Office of Technology focusing on applied AI/ML for electronic design automation (EDA). The intern will contribute to research and development of intelligent systems, agents, and data-driven features that address real-world EDA problems.
Experience Level
Entry-level — internship intended for current undergraduate or graduate students (student status required).
Responsibilities
Primary duties include supporting AI/ML development and data work for EDA-related projects:
- Collect, clean, and preprocess large structured and unstructured datasets for analysis.
- Assist in development and implementation of machine learning models and algorithms, including work with LLMs, classification, and regression models.
- Develop MCP servers and agents to support identified functionality.
- Create data visualizations and dashboards to communicate results and insights.
- Keep up to date with advancements and best practices in data science and analytics.
Requirements
Key skills and attributes for successful applicants:
- Experience or coursework with Python and data processing tools.
- Basic understanding of statistical concepts and techniques.
- Exposure to or interest in AI agent frameworks, LLMs, or prompt engineering (beneficial).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication; ability to work independently and in teams.
- Enthusiasm for applying AI/ML to practical engineering problems.
Education Requirements
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
