AI/ML CAD Engineer, RTL & Design Verification

Role Summary

Develop and maintain CAD/EDA automation, tools, and AI-assisted workflows that support RTL design and verification for high-performance CPU development. Work with RTL design, verification, CAD, infrastructure teams and EDA vendors to improve build/simulation/regression/emulation/static sign-off and CI/CD workflows.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typically targets engineers with several years of relevant industry experience in RTL, verification, or CAD/EDA tool automation.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on automation, tool integration, and improving engineering productivity across RTL and verification workflows.

• Troubleshoot RTL issues, EDA frontend tools, automation infrastructure, and design environments.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain AI-assisted CAD/EDA automation, tools, and workflows for RTL design and verification.
• Build scripts and software to improve RTL build, simulation, verification, emulation, regression, and static sign-off flows.
• Apply AI/ML and AI-assisted development technologies to improve automation, debugging, and productivity.
• Develop and enhance CI/CD and regression automation for hardware development workflows.
• Analyze workflow and infrastructure data to identify performance, reliability, and efficiency improvements.
• Partner with cloud and infrastructure teams to improve compute utilization and scalability.
• Collaborate with RTL design, verification, CAD teams, and EDA vendors to resolve technical issues and improve methodologies.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience are listed first; preferred skills are listed as nice-to-have.

Must-have:

• Linux experience and shell scripting.
• Proficiency in Python, Perl, or C/C++ for tooling and automation.
• Experience with RTL/verification CAD tools and automation frameworks.
• Ability to debug across RTL, automation flows, and software/tool interactions.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience troubleshooting major EDA tools (e.g., SpyGlass, VCS, Questa) and coverage/low-power tools.
• Experience with CAD/EDA automation for simulation/emulation, verification integration, and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development environments (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code).
• Experience optimizing cloud compute for simulation farms and resource scaling.
• DevOps experience for hardware workflows, monitoring, and alerting.
• Verilog/SystemVerilog and multi-domain debugging (testbench, tools, scripts, infrastructure).
• Experience working with EDA vendors on issue triage and debugging.

Education Requirements

Degree or equivalent experience expected: Bachelor's or Master's level study in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical fields is referenced in the posting; the role also accepts equivalent practical experience, internships, or related coursework/research as qualifying background.
