AI Engineering & Methodology Architect
Role Summary
Design and deliver AI-enabled tools, workflows, and infrastructure to accelerate RTL design, verification, and engineering methodology at scale. The role sits at the intersection of AI, RTL design, verification, and automation and targets organisation-wide productivity improvements.
Experience Level
Mid-level (typically 3–7 years of relevant engineering or tooling experience).
Responsibilities
Deliver production-quality automation and methodologies that reduce engineering friction and scale across teams.
- Identify engineering bottlenecks and design automated, AI-augmented solutions.
- Develop tools and workflows to accelerate RTL development, review, and verification environment creation.
- Reduce debug turnaround by improving data collection, analysis, and developer tooling.
- Integrate AI/LLM capabilities and analytics to surface actionable insights from engineering data.
- Build scalable infrastructure and services that support teams across programs and geographies.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, run experiments, and productionise promising prototypes.
- Drive methodology adoption and provide guidance to engineering teams.
Requirements
Core technical skills and practical experience required; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
- Hands-on experience with ASIC/SoC engineering workflows, including RTL and verification tooling and flows.
- Practical knowledge of RTL design and verification concepts and tools (e.g., RTL languages, simulation, verification environments).
- Experience building developer-facing tools, automation, or production services-planning, implementation, and deployment.
- Proficiency in scripting and software engineering (Python or similar) for automation and data processing.
- Experience with data analysis, telemetry, or analytics applied to engineering datasets.
- Ability to evaluate and integrate ML/AI components into engineering workflows, and to produce robust, maintainable solutions.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with design, verification, and platform teams.
- Nice-to-have: experience with large language models/agentic systems, cloud infrastructure, UVM or advanced verification methodologies, and prior work at a semiconductor or IP company.
Education Requirements
Degree required: One of the following or equivalent practical experience-Bachelor's in Science, Engineering, or related field with 4+ years of ASIC/design/verification experience; OR Master's in Science, Engineering, or related field with 3+ years; OR PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field with 2+ years.
