Role Summary

The Application Engineer (Verification IP) acts as the technical liaison between Cadence R&D and customers to drive adoption of the Verification IP (VIP) portfolio. The role focuses on pre-sales technical support, product demonstrations, customer evaluations, and integrating VIP into customer environments.

The position requires independent execution and regular collaboration with global R&D, Product Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Support teams; travel is approximately 10% on average.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical customer engagement, driving product adoption, and enabling successful customer evaluations.

  • Conduct product demonstrations, manage customer evaluations, and run benchmarks.
  • Deploy and integrate Verification IP into customer environments.
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to capture customer requirements and support business closure.
  • Communicate requirements and alignment between customers and PE/R&D teams.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical training to customers.
  • Support VIP AI technology enablement and advanced customer solutions.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships by delivering timely, high-quality solutions.
  • Participate in evaluations to win new business.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate contribution.

  • Approximately 2 years of industry design verification experience.
  • Protocol knowledge: AMBA and PCIe; familiarity with CXL, UCIe, UALink, UEC is beneficial.
  • Strong RTL and verification coding skills: Verilog, SystemVerilog, and UVM.
  • Advanced debugging skills for pre-silicon verification failures using waveform viewers and simulation analysis tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work in cross-functional teams and with customers.
  • Self-motivated, proactive problem-solver with a focus on continuous learning and innovation.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10%.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (as stated in the posting).
