Role Summary
Undergraduate co-op/intern on AMD's hardware design verification team working on high-end machine intelligence products. The role supports simulation, verification, system-level testing and production validation in San Jose or Santa Clara. Assignments vary by team and term and involve hands-on verification, scripting, and debugging tasks.

Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities during the co-op/intern term include:
- Collaborate with engineers to develop and execute verification test plans, simulation test cases and models.
- Write and maintain scripts for compute resource tracking and test automation (Perl/Python/Shell).
- Test and maintain regression flows (Perl/Python/MySQL/PHP) and improve simulation performance.
- Support debugging of test cases, models and Verilog/SystemVerilog code; identify root causes.
- Build and run test platforms and perform system-level and production validation testing.
- Use lab and software tools for low-level hardware/software testing and issue isolation.
Requirements
Core requirements and eligibility:
- Proficiency with programming and scripting (examples: Python, Perl, C/C++, Shell).
- Experience or coursework with Verilog and SystemVerilog and familiarity with digital design concepts (FSMs, registers, timing).
- Practical debugging experience in Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
- Familiarity with system-level hardware/software integration and basic lab equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, multimeter).
- Ability to work full time (40 hours/week) for the duration of the assigned co-op/intern term in a hybrid or onsite structure.
- Not eligible for visa sponsorship; candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Education Requirements
Currently enrolled in a U.S.-based Bachelor's program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (undergraduate students only).
