2027 Master's Hardware Design Verification Engineering Co-op/Intern
Role Summary
Work on hardware design verification for AMD machine-intelligence products. The position reports to the verification team and contributes to performance and production validation of integrated hardware/software systems.
Locations: San Jose, CA or Santa Clara, CA. Full-time (40 hrs/week) co-op/intern terms run on scheduled academic calendars (Spring/Summer, Summer, Summer/Fall) in 2027.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include verification, test development, and system-level validation.
- Develop and execute performance verification test plans, simulation test cases and models.
- Write and maintain scripts and regression flows (Perl, Python, MySQL, PHP as applicable).
- Support debugging and improvement of test cases, verification models, and Verilog/SystemVerilog code.
- Build and run test platforms and perform system-level and production validation testing.
- Profile and improve simulation performance, tools, and team workflows.
- Use software tools to perform low-level hardware/software tests and root-cause analysis.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and logistical requirements for candidates.
- Authorized to work in the United States; this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
- Able to work full time (40 hours/week) on-site or in a hybrid schedule in San Jose or Santa Clara, CA for the internship/co-op term.
- Proficiency with one or more programming/scripting languages: Python, Perl, C/C++, Shell.
- Experience with Verilog and SystemVerilog and fundamentals of digital logic (FSMs, timing, registers, flops).
- Experience developing and debugging in Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
- Familiarity with system-level hardware/software design and debugging tools.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with UVM-based verification methodologies.
- Familiarity with MySQL/PHP-based regression flows, simulation performance tuning, or lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters).
- Understanding of analog/digital transistor device behavior and PC/hardware assembly.
Education Requirements
Candidates should be currently enrolled in a U.S.-based Master's program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
