Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities for hires in this role:
- Verify and validate SoC/subsystem designs that include embedded RISC/DSP processors and communications/networking ASICs.
- Implement and maintain RTL and software components; translate algorithms into HW/SW implementations or models.
- Develop and run simulations, bring-up on FPGA/board, and participate in silicon validation and debug.
- Write and maintain scripts and testbenches using Tcl, Perl, shell scripting or similar tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, verification, CAD, board, RF/analog) to integrate and optimize features.
- Document designs, test plans, and results; communicate technical status and issues clearly.
Requirements
Core technical skills and attributes expected for applicants.
- Must-have: RTL experience or strong object-oriented programming skills; proficiency in Verilog or VHDL and C/C++.
- Must-have: Scripting experience (Tcl, Perl, shell) for automation and test development.
- Must-have: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work effectively in teams.
- Nice-to-have: Knowledge of wireless/wired communications protocols, graphics/video multimedia, or SOC-level design and verification flows.
- Specialized (role-dependent): For RF/analog/mixed-signal tracks, familiarity with PLL, LNA, OpAmp, CMOS, ADC/DAC concepts and tools such as Cadence/SpectreRF and layout flows is expected.
- Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, VLSI, ECE, Embedded/VLSI or a related engineering field; Master's degree listed as acceptable for some candidates.
