Job Title
Yield Platform Analyst
Role Summary
Lead yield improvement efforts for Intel's Advanced Packaging Technology and Manufacturing (APTM) portfolio. Set priorities and roadmaps for yield improvement across new packaging process technologies from pathfinding through manufacturing ramp.
Work cross-functionally with process, materials, design, test and operations teams to identify yield drivers, deliver analysis, and drive actions that support platform certification and high-volume manufacturing.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Typical experience expectations: Bachelor's degree plus 4+ years relevant experience, Master's degree plus 3+ years, or PhD (experience may vary by degree).
Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include technical leadership, analysis, and cross-functional coordination to improve yield for advanced packaging technologies.
- Define yield-improvement goals and roadmap for new packaging process technologies and architectures.
- Analyze correlations between materials, tools, process parameters and yield; establish critical modulators and inline parameter relationships.
- Provide process development direction across the technology lifecycle from pathfinding through ramp to HVM.
- Perform statistical analysis, create visualizations and presentations to support process development roadmaps and yield milestones.
- Extract insights from large structured and unstructured datasets using statistics, machine learning and coding techniques.
- Develop systems to convert experimental and manufacturing data into actionable yield-improvement steps, considering product design and test features.
- Ensure manufacturability through analysis of process and specification corners and collaborate with design to resolve yield issues prior to ramp.
- Monitor project/task completion and lead integrated task forces on cross-functional problems; some domestic and international travel may be required.
Requirements
Key must-have skills and experience, plus preferred (nice-to-have) capabilities.
Must-have:
- Experience applying materials, tooling and process fundamentals to drive yield improvement projects.
- Practical experience with advanced data systems, statistical analysis and data-driven yield-improvement techniques.
- Experience developing and deploying software for yield reporting and automated commonality or root-cause analysis.
- Ability to synthesize large datasets and apply coding, statistics or ML techniques to extract actionable insights.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including presenting technical results to leadership.
- Ability to direct cross-functional teams and work across organizational boundaries.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience managing, mentoring or coaching technical engineers.
- Detailed knowledge of substrate, assembly or back-end fab processes; prior integration, yield or module engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience with Python, machine learning techniques, JMP/JSL, and SQL.
Education Requirements
Degree requirements: Bachelor's degree with 4+ years relevant experience, OR Master's degree with 3+ years relevant experience, OR PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related technical discipline. Equivalent practical experience may be considered where specified.
