Yield Enhancement Engineer

Role Summary

Owner of yield and quality improvement activities for released products, including disposition of low-yield lots, qualification for fab and mask/bump transfers, and cost-reduction engineering. Works with fabs, assembly/test houses, and internal groups to identify and implement corrective actions.

Responsibilities

Primary day-to-day and project responsibilities:

• Manage disposition of on-hold/low-yield product lots and follow through to resolution.
• Analyze low-yield issues and drive yield improvement plans for assigned products.
• Lead product quality improvement activities and root-cause analysis.
• Plan and execute mask (circuit/version) change qualifications.
• Plan and execute wafer fab transfer qualifications.
• Support bump/assembly house transfer qualifications.
• Perform engineering work related to product cost reduction initiatives.
• Provide timely technical support to other internal teams and customers; develop solutions for well-defined problems.

Requirements

Must-have skills and attributes:

• Basic knowledge of analog and digital circuits, semiconductor device physics, IC manufacturing, assembly processes, and IC test processes.
• Strong teamwork and self-motivation.
• Good communication skills in English.

Education Requirements

Master's degree (MSEE) in Microelectronics or related Electrical Engineering — master's level or above specified. Fields cited: Microelectronics, Electrical Engineering, or related technical fields.
