Yield Enhancement Electrical Failure Analysis Engineer

Role Summary

Investigate electrical failures and yield issues in semiconductor manufacturing to identify root causes and enable corrective actions. The role sits within Yield Enhancement and partners with Fab, Yield Engineering, Product, Process Integration, Manufacturing, and Data Science teams to improve yield, reliability, and engineering productivity.

Responsibilities

Perform hands-on failure analysis, correlate data, and implement solutions that improve yield and reliability.

  • Perform electrical failure analysis, characterize defects, and deliver clear technical reports to support root-cause identification and corrective actions.
  • Correlate electrical test data, failure analysis results, and manufacturing information to investigate yield excursions.
  • Develop and enhance monitoring, screening, automation, and analytics to improve investigation efficiency and defect detection.
  • Partner with Design, Product, Process Integration, Manufacturing, and Data Science to resolve yield and reliability challenges.
  • Communicate technical findings and mentor engineers and technicians on failure analysis methods and AI-enabled tools.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required to perform the role.

  • At least 3 years of semiconductor industry experience, including experience analyzing electrical test data, failure analysis results, and manufacturing data to identify root causes.
  • Proven knowledge of semiconductor devices, device physics, process integration, and electrical failure analysis techniques.
  • Experience operating laboratory equipment safely, managing multiple investigations, and producing clear technical reports.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and data-analysis skills, including experience using automation and AI-enabled engineering tools.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and drive corrective actions with manufacturing and product teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
