Yield Enhancement DRAM DA
Micron TechnologyJob Title
Yield Enhancement DRAM DA
Role Summary
As a Yield Analysis (DA) engineer you will characterize electrical data to identify intrinsic and extrinsic device issues affecting yield, develop prediction methods for end-of-line device performance, and support transfer of next-generation DRAM products from R&D to manufacturing.
The role sits at the intersection of device physics, data analysis, and production engineering; you will work with cross-functional R&D and manufacturing teams to accelerate product commercialization.
Experience Level
Mid-level - typically 3β7 years' relevant industry experience; the posting specifies a Bachelor's plus 5 years' industrial experience or advanced degree holders.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include analysis, tooling, and cross-functional problem solving to improve yield and support product transfer.
- Analyze end-of-line test, parametric, and fab data to identify design, process, and test issues impacting yield.
- Develop and implement yield-analysis tools and apply machine learning/AI to improve prediction accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify interactions between process modules and equipment to detect failure mechanisms.
- Use inline data to recommend and validate process improvements.
- Standardize methods and procedures to improve measurement consistency and yield predictions.
- Lead or participate in multi-area focus teams to troubleshoot complex yield issues.
- Provide actionable feedback to R&D on design and process limitations and help drive resolutions.
- Publish and present reports on analysis of process experiments and support transfer of new parts from R&D to manufacturing.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and behaviors; candidates may demonstrate equivalent practical experience where appropriate.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor processing and CMOS/device physics, including memory cell operation.
- Proven ability to extract, analyze, and report electrical and fab data; demonstrated statistical analysis skills.
- Programming skills: Python, R, SQL; familiarity with JavaScript is desirable.
- Experience applying machine learning or data-driven methods to analysis or prediction problems.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication; ability to translate complex analysis into actionable recommendations.
- Detail-oriented with ability to follow complex procedures and maintain consistent methods.
- Continuous improvement mindset focused on measurement accuracy and yield prediction improvement.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams with limited supervision and to lead/coordinate team discussions.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of industrial semiconductor experience, or a Master's or PhD in Engineering or a related semiconductor field.
