Job Title
Yield Development Engineer (Intel Foundry LTD)
Role Summary
Work within Intel Foundry Logic Technology Development to identify root-cause yield limiters and drive solutions that improve manufacturability and yield for leading-edge logic nodes.
The role combines data analysis, statistical methods, AI/ML and process engineering to support new product introductions, process improvements, and production ramp.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Requires practical experience in semiconductor device and process engineering; posting lists 2+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Deliver technical solutions that improve yield, manufacturability, and product quality.
- Consolidate and analyze diverse fab process, defect, and electrical data to identify defect modes and yield drivers.
- Perform statistical analysis, create visualizations, and build yield models and roadmaps.
- Develop multivariate algorithms, AI/ML applications, and computational tools for root-cause analysis and yield prediction.
- Run experiments and design-of-experiments in collaboration with factory task forces and equipment vendors.
- Collaborate with design teams on design-technology co-optimization to ensure manufacturability before production ramp.
- Develop measurement recipes and operational systems for rapid product integrity feedback.
- Document procedures, train colleagues, and assist in debugging equipment, software, and process failures in production environments.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.
- Hands-on experience with semiconductor manufacturing data (process, defect, electrical) and defect-mode analysis.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis, data visualization, and yield modeling.
- Experience coding for data analysis and ML (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB, SQL or similar).
- Experience developing algorithms or tools for multivariate analysis and root-cause identification.
- Familiarity with measurement recipe development and production test feedback loops.
- Ability to collaborate across design, process, and equipment teams in a matrix organization.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with yield projection using EOL signals and in-line parameters.
- Project or program management experience and experience working with equipment vendors.
- Proven experience applying AI/ML to bridge design and manufacturing.
Education Requirements
Ph.D. in a semiconductor-related STEM field (engineering, physical science, computer science, or related) was listed as the minimum degree. The posting also specifies relevant practical experience (2+ years) in advanced semiconductor devices and process flow.
