Test Engineering Software & Automation Engineer
Role Summary
Develop and operate tooling, infrastructure, and software that support semiconductor test-program development and test engineering workflows. The role bridges platform engineering, software development, and test/product engineering to improve engineering productivity through automation, reliable build environments, and scalable deployment.
Experience Level
Mid-level β minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) and scalable build environments.
- Operate and evolve cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure for test software development.
- Containerize applications and migrate workloads to container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Maintain PostgreSQL databases, schemas, and data models used by test systems.
- Develop automation frameworks, tooling, API integrations, and data pipelines using Python and/or Java.
- Support test engineering software for NPI, characterization, and production test activities.
- Improve automation, reuse, standardization, reliability, monitoring, and security of engineering workflows.
- Troubleshoot build systems, deployment pipelines, and automation frameworks; support engineers adopting software best practices.
- Collaborate with Test Engineering, Product Engineering, Design, and Infrastructure teams to deliver scalable solutions.
Requirements
Core requirements and desirable skills.
Must-have:
- Minimum 5 years in a related role (platform/DevOps/test automation or similar).
- Experience with Jenkins administration and CI/CD pipeline development.
- Strong Linux administration and software deployment experience.
- Experience with Docker and containerized applications; familiarity with Kubernetes or orchestration platforms.
- Cloud experience (AWS EC2 or equivalent).
- PostgreSQL and SQL experience.
- Software development using Python and/or Java; Git-based workflows.
- Experience with REST APIs and system integrations.
- Experience in semiconductor test engineering or hardware-related development environments.
- Fluent in English.
Nice-to-have:
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience.
- Monitoring, observability, and operational-excellence practices.
- Networking, secrets management, and security best practices.
- Experience mentoring engineers and driving adoption of software engineering best practices.
- Knowledge of digital and/or analog test methodologies and test automation tooling.
