Yield Analysis Engineer
Micron TechnologyJob Title
Yield Analysis Engineer
Role Summary
Perform data-driven yield analysis for DRAM manufacturing at Fab 16 (Taichung). Identify and quantify yield-limiting issues, correlate probe and failure-analysis data, and work with process and monitoring teams to implement and validate fixes.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Typical expectation: roughly 2β4 years of relevant semiconductor/yield-analysis experience.
Responsibilities
Lead analytical investigations into yield loss and enable corrective actions across site and global teams.
- Track probe yields and trends; quantify gaps between target and actual yields and produce accurate yield paretos.
- Perform advanced statistical analysis and data mining to identify root causes and improvement opportunities.
- Correlate electrical signatures with Electrical and Physical Failure Analysis (EFA/PFA) findings.
- Partner with module, inline monitoring, and process teams to implement and monitor yield fixes and handoffs.
- Collaborate across sites (follow-the-sun model) to ensure rapid response, continuity of issue ownership, and accelerated learning cycles.
- Standardize dashboards, workflows, and best practices to improve cross-site consistency.
- Develop and apply AI-enabled solutions, automation frameworks, and advanced analytics to streamline yield workflows.
- Facilitate technical reviews and share yield learnings with global teams.
Requirements
Core technical skills and experience required or preferred for the role.
- Must-have: 2+ years' experience in semiconductor physics with understanding of transistor operation, scaling limitations, reliability, and basic CMOS circuits and characterization methods.
- Must-have: Experience using at least one data-analysis tool or language (examples: JMP, Python).
- Must-have: Proven ability to apply statistical tools and data-mining techniques to produce actionable yield metrics.
- Must-have: Experience collaborating with Failure Analysis teams (EFA/PFA) and process engineers to correlate data and drive fixes.
- Nice-to-have: DRAM manufacturing experience.
- Nice-to-have: 2β4 years' experience as a Yield Analysis engineer or RDA in a manufacturing/HVM environment.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a Physical Science (Physics) is listed, or equivalent practical experience (explicitly: 3+ years of semiconductor experience). A Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred. Fields mentioned: Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Computer Science. No certifications were specified.
