WPM Sort Module Process Engineer
Role Summary
Intel Wafer Packaging Manufacturing (WPM) Sort Test Engineering in Leixlip seeks an engineer to sustain and improve automated wafer test product, process and equipment health. The role focuses on troubleshooting, data analysis, and process improvements for wafer sort/test platforms used for advanced CPU and SoC products.

Entry-level / Early career. Minimum 2 years of relevant experience specified.
Responsibilities
Key duties include maintaining test equipment and processes, investigating failures, and improving test throughput and quality.
- Support and improve automated wafer sort/test platforms (testers, handlers, probe interfaces, integration flows).
- Investigate and debug platform failures across electrical, mechanical, optical and software domains.
- Contain and disposition affected production material (ICs under test) when failures occur.
- Extract and analyze test results and tool logs; develop scripts to mine data for early detection of issues.
- Perform statistical analysis of parametric test results across equipment to identify discrepant tools.
- Isolate failing hardware by correlating parametric signals to circuitry or mechanical/optical subsystems.
- Act as escalation point for technicians; coach and document debug procedures and training content.
- Manage equipment spares portfolio and repair coordination to meet availability goals.
- Project-manage new-product readiness, equipment upgrades/conversions, and test-method rollouts.
- Collaborate with international Intel sites on continuous improvement of test environments and automation.
Requirements
Core skills and attributes required to perform the role.
- Minimum 2 years relevant industry experience supporting test or manufacturing equipment.
- Practical debug and problem-solving experience under time constraints.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate clearly with software, hardware and process teams.
- Project planning and prioritization skills.
- Some scripting/programming experience (examples: Python, C#, SQL).
- Data-analysis familiarity; experience with pivots, SQL, Power BI or JMP is advantageous.
- Moderate knowledge of statistics and ability to apply it to test data.
- Understanding of micro-electronics / semiconductor test concepts is helpful.
- Willingness to learn and apply AI techniques to improve sort/test processes is an advantage.
Education Requirements
Minimum: honors degree (NFQ Level 8) in Electronics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics or a related STEM field.
