Wireless SoC Design Engineer
AppleJob Title
Wireless SoC Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design CPU-based subsystems and RTL for high-performance, low-power wireless SoCs. Work on a small cross-functional team integrating IP and optimizing power, area, and performance for Apple devices.
The role collaborates with SoC architects, IP developers, verification, firmware, and platform teams to deliver production ASICs.
Experience Level
Senior - 10+ years relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include micro-architecture, RTL development, IP integration, and optimization across area, timing, and power.
- Write micro-architecture and design specifications.
- Develop RTL in SystemVerilog, owning all aspects of RTL design and implementation.
- Integrate IP blocks and optimize memories and hard macros required for the block.
- Support verification efforts at multiple levels and use static analysis tools (LINT, CDC, RDC).
- Analyze and optimize area, timing, and power; participate in hardware/software/power partitioning discussions.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure designs meet delivery and quality targets.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.
- 10+ years of relevant ASIC/SoC design experience.
- Familiarity with the ASIC design flow and RTL development practices.
- Practical knowledge of digital design and SoC architecture.
- Proficiency in HDL languages (Verilog/SystemVerilog).
Nice-to-have
- Experience writing micro-architecture specifications and converting them to design.
- Exposure to industry-standard EDA tools and design methodologies.
- Experience with AXI/AHB bus fabrics and processor sub-systems.
- Understanding of UPF and low-power design techniques.
- Self-starter with strong collaboration and problem-solving skills.
