Wafer Fab Process Engineer (Semiconductor)

Role Summary

Participate as a process engineer on the wafer fabrication team in Palm Bay, supporting and improving processes and equipment for integrated circuit manufacturing. Primary duties include problem analysis, process development, implementation of process controls, equipment specification, and documentation.

Coordinate with design staff, fab technicians and management to maintain and advance diffusion, deposition, CMP and other wafer fabrication processes.

Experience Level

Mid-level — typically requires 5+ years of wafer fab process engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include:

• Analyze manufacturing data and troubleshoot process and equipment issues.
• Develop and implement process improvements and process controls.
• Define process formulations and equipment requirements; review processing techniques.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure process-product compatibility.
• Compile and evaluate test data to set process and material specifications.
• Plan and execute projects to develop or improve diffusion, deposition and wafer fabrication processes.
• Document results and communicate findings to technical peers and management.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred qualifications:

• 5+ years of wafer fab process engineering experience.
• Experience with CMP processing preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and data-analysis skills; ability to implement process controls.
• Experience specifying and working with processing and handling equipment.
• Effective written and verbal communication with technical and management audiences.
• ITAR-restricted role — candidate must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. Person.

Education Requirements

BS degree or equivalent experience in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
