VLSI Engineering Apprenticeship
SynopsysJob Title
VLSI Engineering Apprenticeship
Role Summary
This is a 12-month, on-site apprenticeship in the IP Group focused on high-speed serial link design, RTL implementation, and functional verification. You will work on inter-chip and intra-chip communication solutions, design finite state machines, and collaborate with engineers on design, verification, validation, and packaging tasks.
Hands-on tasks include translating algorithms to RTL and participating in verification activities; the role is practical and execution-oriented.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship / apprenticeship.
Responsibilities
Primary technical responsibilities include:
- Design and optimize high-speed serial link components for inter-chip and intra-chip communications.
- Design finite state machines for complex arithmetic and logic operations.
- Translate algorithmic flowcharts into pseudocode and RTL implementations using Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Develop RTL that compiles and simulates; participate in functional design and verification activities.
- Collaborate with IPGG teams on design, verification, validation, and packaging tasks.
- Debug and resolve design issues methodically during implementation and verification.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and attributes:
- Strong digital and analog fundamentals and proven ability to design finite state machines for complex operations.
- Proficiency in Verilog and SystemVerilog with hands-on RTL coding experience that compiles and simulates.
- Ability to convert algorithmic flowcharts into pseudocode and working implementations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and systematic debugging approach.
- Available to work full-time on-site in Hyderabad for the program duration.
Nice-to-have:
- Exposure to functional verification methodologies (UVM, OVM, VMM).
- Theoretical knowledge of protocols such as PCIe and IEEE 802.3.
Education Requirements
Mandatory: Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, VLSI, Microelectronics, or a related field (or equivalent). Candidates should be fresh graduates from the class of 2025 or 2026. Applicants must not be currently enrolled in or have completed M.Tech/postgraduate diploma programs, and must not be employed in a full-time position (limited prior internship experience is acceptable).
