VLSI Engineer II Graduate

Role Summary

Design and verify VLSI components and contribute to computer/server hardware architecture, working within a VLSI engineering team and with internal and outsourced partners. This role supports prototype and production solutions and provides mentoring to junior staff.

Position is hybrid with an average requirement of 2 days per week in an HPE office.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Graduate). Guidance: 0–4 years of experience in VLSI design, verification, or implementation.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include designing and validating VLSI circuits and collaborating across teams to meet schedule, cost, and quality targets.

• Design portions of computer/server architecture and related algorithms per specifications.
• Design, simulate, and test VLSI circuits to meet prototype and production requirements.
• Communicate design status, project progress, and issues with management and stakeholders.
• Work as part of a project team with internal and outsourced development partners.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; concise and practical.

• Understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals, VLSI principles, digital logic, and computer architecture.
• Hands-on experience or practical exposure to designing VLSI components, integrated circuits, or related architectures.
• Experience with programming/scripting and hardware description languages (HDLs); familiarity with EDA and/or FPGA tools.
• Analytical problem-solving skills and ability to apply engineering judgment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field - or equivalent practical experience.
