Work includes architecture definition, logic design, integration, and improving design flows and automation to meet performance and power goals.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The role targets experienced ASIC engineers with several years of relevant ASIC/FPGA design and IP development experience; see Education Requirements for specific degree/experience combinations.

Responsibilities

Principal responsibilities include hands-on design work and collaboration across teams.

  • Implement RTL for IP and SoC components following architecture and design protocols.
  • Define architecture, perform logic design, and drive large-scale integration and system simulation.
  • Create and execute verification strategies for ASICs, SoCs, and IP cores.
  • Investigate and resolve architecture, design, and verification issues with minimal supervision.
  • Participate in design and architecture reviews and provide analytical feedback.
  • Identify and implement flow and process improvements, including automation and tooling.
  • Communicate design intent and status across teams and present technical findings.
  • Share knowledge with peers and provide support during critical project phases.

Requirements

Core technical skills and domain experience required. Degree-related experience details are listed in Education Requirements and have been omitted here to avoid duplication.

  • Practical ASIC and/or FPGA design experience, including RTL design and integration.
  • Domain knowledge of server/data-center IPs, protocols, and interfaces.
  • Experience designing arithmetic, computational, or machine-learning oriented IP is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of microarchitectural techniques for performance and power optimization.
  • Experience with design verification methodologies and system-level validation.
  • Ability to develop scripts and tools to automate design and verification flows (advantageous).
  • Good problem-solving, presentation, and cross-team communication skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field plus 4+ years of ASIC design/verification/integration experience; OR Master's degree in Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field plus 3+ years; OR PhD in a related technical field plus 2+ years. Preferred: Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience are accepted as specified above.
