VLSI Design Automation Software Engineer
Role Summary
Work on VLSI development infrastructure for the Backend Networking team in Israel. Primary responsibilities include managing compute and storage resources, building automation and AI-assisted engineering workflows, and creating monitoring dashboards.
Experience Level
Mid-level — typically 3+ years of relevant VLSI design automation experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include infrastructure operation, automation, and collaboration with design automation teams.
- Oversee and optimize compute and storage resources to support VLSI projects.
- Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to improve developer productivity.
- Design, implement, and maintain dashboards for monitoring infrastructure performance and usage.
- Create and integrate AI-assisted workflows and agentic coding practices to streamline engineering tasks.
- Participate in the full lifecycle of infrastructure tooling: design, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Coordinate with remote team members in Israel and collaborate with other DA teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; followed by optional qualifications.
- Must-have: 3+ years' experience with VLSI design automation.
- Must-have: Strong proficiency with Unix/Linux environments.
- Must-have: Proven experience in at least two programming languages, including Python, and scripting for automation.
- Must-have: Experience using AI coding assistants or agentic development workflows.
- Must-have: Good debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Must-have: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a diverse team.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with SQL and LSF scheduler.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with GUI or Unix/web application development; familiarity with React.
- Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience with AI tools such as Cursor or Claude Code, or building internal coding agents.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
