Job Title

VLSI Design Automation Software Engineer

Role Summary

Manage and maintain VLSI compute and storage infrastructure for the Backend Networking team, and develop automation, dashboards, and AI-assisted engineering workflows to improve developer productivity and infrastructure reliability.

Collaborate with a remote team in Israel and other DA teams across the development lifecycle: design, test, deploy, and maintain infrastructure tools.

Experience Level

Mid-level; minimum 3 years' experience in VLSI Design Automation.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include infrastructure operations, automation, monitoring, and collaboration with distributed teams.

  • Oversee and optimize compute and storage resources to support VLSI projects.
  • Develop and maintain scripts, automation tools, and AI-assisted workflows to streamline infrastructure tasks.
  • Design, implement, and maintain dashboards and reporting for infrastructure performance and usage.
  • Coordinate with a remote team in Israel to ensure smooth communication and task handoff.
  • Participate in full lifecycle development of infrastructure tools: design, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with other team members and DA teams to implement software solutions and agentic coding practices using modern AI tools.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience with VLSI Design Automation.
  • Strong proficiency with Unix.
  • Proven experience in at least two programming languages, including Python, and scripting.
  • Experience working with AI coding assistants, agentic development workflows, or productivity-enhancing automation tools.
  • Good debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a diverse team.
  • Experience developing automation, dashboards, and infrastructure tooling.

Nice-to-have:

  • Background with SQL and LSF scheduler.
  • Experience with GUI and Unix/web application development.
  • Familiarity with React.
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools such as Cursor and Claude Code.
  • Experience building internal coding agents or integrating AI into engineering workflows.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
