RF System Engineer (NFC)

Role Summary

Lead RF-related NFC system validation projects for mobile products within a global cross-functional product development team. The role focuses on validating, optimizing and debugging RF performance to meet standards, interoperability and product requirements.

Responsibilities include planning and tracking validation activities, improving RF validation workflows and supporting customer design-in and support tasks.

Experience Level

Mid-level — typically 3–5 years of RF experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include validation planning, execution and RF performance optimization:

• Lead RF-related NFC system validation projects in cross-functional, global teams focused on mobile products.
• Plan, track, execute, report and debug validation tasks across product development milestones.
• Optimize RF performance to meet standards and interoperability requirements (e.g. ISO/IEC 14443, NFC Forum, EMVCo) and product specifications.
• Enhance RF validation workflow to improve coverage, quality and execution time in coordination with test automation experts.
• Provide technical input for customer support and design-in activities.
• Produce clear documentation of validation results and defects; collaborate with global stakeholders.

Requirements

• Must-have: 3–5 years of practical RF experience; solid understanding of RF communication systems (modulation techniques, coding). Proficiency in MATLAB and Python. Strong documentation skills, organized and accurate work style, and excellent English (written and spoken). Ability to handle security-related tasks reliably.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with RF simulation tools (e.g. ADS, RFSim), transmitter/receiver architecture knowledge, and experience with test automation or RF validation tooling.

Education Requirements

Master's degree from a Technical University or Fachhochschule (FH) in electrical engineering, communications, information engineering or a similar technical field is specified.
