Job Title
VLSI Chip Design Engineer – RTL/SoC & Verification
Role Summary
Join Annapurna Labs within Amazon Web Services to design and verify components of a next-generation semiconductor platform (Nitro). The role spans RTL design, SoC integration, and cross-functional coordination from architectural definition to silicon production.
Experience Level
Mid-level — typically 3–7 years of VLSI/SoC design and verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design and implement RTL for SoC components and reusable IP blocks.
- Collaborate with architecture teams to define micro-architecture and specifications.
- Develop and maintain verification plans and environments; work with verification engineers to validate IP and SoC functionality.
- Integrate IPs into the SoC and coordinate with software and physical-design teams during tapeout preparation.
- Support synthesis, timing closure, and silicon bring-up activities toward mass production.
- Own IP lifecycle from specification through validation and production release.
- Coordinate across global teams to meet schedule, quality, and delivery targets.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Proven RTL design experience for SoC or ASIC projects using Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Experience with block- and SoC-level verification methodologies (UVM, assertions, directed tests).
- Hands-on SoC integration experience and proven ability to own IP and coordinate across architecture, software, verification, and physical design teams.
- Familiarity with synthesis, timing-closure practices, and silicon bring-up/debug workflows.
- Practical experience with common EDA tools and simulation flows; strong debugging skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with large-scale server/cloud infrastructure silicon or security-focused hardware platforms.
- Prior involvement in production tapeout and high-volume manufacturing workflows.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
